Swedish Massage
The classic full-body massage — soothing, relaxing and detoxifying, tailored to your problem areas.
How Swedish Massage Can Help
- Everyday stress & strain
- Muscle tension
- Poor circulation
- Low mood & fatigue
- General relaxation
Swedish massage is the classic full-body treatment — the one most people picture when they think of massage. Using traditional techniques, it soothes, relaxes and detoxifies the body while improving the tone of muscle and skin tissue.
What is a Swedish massage?
This oil-based treatment combines long, flowing strokes with kneading and rhythmic pressure to work through the whole body. It is incredibly helpful in relieving the many stresses and strains we build up in our daily lives — the tight shoulders from a week at a desk, the heavy legs from being on your feet, the general tension that creeps in without us noticing.
The treatment is fully adjustable: your therapist can concentrate on specific problem areas, or work evenly across the body as a whole — whichever will do you the most good on the day.
How can Swedish massage help me?
Regular Swedish massage can help with:
- Releasing everyday stress and physical strain
- Easing general muscle tension and stiffness
- Supporting healthy circulation
- Improving the tone of muscle and skin tissue
- Promoting rest, recovery and a genuine sense of wellbeing
Because the pressure is firm but never punishing, Swedish massage suits almost everyone — from first-timers who want a gentle introduction to massage, to regulars who use it to keep tension from building up between busier treatments.
What to expect at your appointment
Your therapist will begin with a brief chat about your general health, how you are feeling and any areas you would like special attention paid to. You will then be left to undress in private and settle comfortably on the treatment couch, covered with towels throughout except for the area being worked on.
The massage itself is smooth, warming and deeply calming. Many clients drift into a half-sleep — which is exactly as it should be. Afterwards, take your time getting up, and drink plenty of water for the rest of the day to help your body make the most of the treatment.
Whether you book a one-off session to reset after a demanding stretch, or make it a regular part of looking after yourself, Swedish massage is one of the simplest and most pleasant ways to keep body and mind in balance.
