Reflexology
Pressure-point therapy for feet and hands that eases stress, improves sleep and restores natural balance.
How Reflexology Can Help
- Stress & anxiety
- Insomnia & poor sleep
- Digestion & IBS
- Headaches
- Menopause & PMS
- Circulation
- Fertility & IVF support
- Back & neck pain
Clinical reflexology is a non-invasive treatment based on the reflex points of the feet, hands and head, which are linked to every part of the human body. Working these points means treatment in one part of the body can substantially improve your health in another — allowing reflexology to produce very individual effects and restore your wellbeing naturally.
What can reflexology help with?
Because your treatment is so personal, the effects vary from person to person: you may notice reduced physical tension and improved sleep, while many people also feel an enhancement in mood, general wellbeing and sense of self. Reflexology aims to look after your overall health in the face of the wide-ranging stresses of modern life, and may help with:
- Anxiety and stress
- Insomnia
- Digestion and IBS
- Headaches
- Menopause, PMS and mood swings
- Blood pressure
- Circulation
- Skin conditions
- Restless legs (RLS)
- Emotional release
- Fertility problems and IVF support
- Back and neck pain
What to expect at your appointment
Your treatment begins with a thorough medical history — regularly reviewed and updated — which allows us to build a dynamic treatment plan tailored specifically to you. Reflexology is highly tailored to your lifestyle and health, and is appropriate for all the family, from pre-conception to old age and through every stage of life.
During the treatment you will rest in a comfortable position with only your shoes and socks removed — no other clothing needs to be taken off. Agreed pressure is applied to various parts of the body, most often the lower legs, feet, hands and arms. The experience is very similar to a massage that works from the inside out. Some initial discomfort can occur, but most people feel a deep sense of wellbeing and restfulness during their session.
Reflexology and maternal care
Preconception, pregnancy and post-natal reflexology may assist you on the journey to becoming pregnant, optimise your health throughout pregnancy, and support your recovery after the birth.
On the way to parenthood, preconception reflexology can help you achieve the beneficial lifestyle balances that may assist conception — with each client receiving an individually prepared treatment programme compatible with a natural or IVF conception plan. While reflexology is often suggested for the final phase of pregnancy, it can support your changing needs from before conception, through every stage of pregnancy, and even as part of your birth plan, before helping with the physical adaptations that follow the birth. During this time, reflexology may help with:
- Nausea and fatigue
- Constipation and acid reflux
- Insomnia
- Backache and sciatica
- Blood pressure
- Anxiety and stress
What Clients Say About Our Reflexology
“Nick Johnson is amazing at acupuncture and massage. He has fixed me countless times and is worth seeing for maintenance too and stopping niggles becoming something bigger. The price is very reasonable and the treatment rooms are great. Friendly and helpful staff upstairs in the Pharmacy too. Highly recommend.”— tommc7
“I telephoned Fairlee and got amazing help from all and Nick Johnson has transformed my life. After many years of pain from too much back surgery and being near crippled, his combination of acupuncture and physio has done so much more than a spinal cord stimulator (now removed), pills and all other medical treatments. I now walk straight. The Team at Fairlee are all very friendly and helpful.”— David Wittich
“He identified all the 'knots' on my back and neck and worked on them for 45 minutes of deep tissue massage followed by acupuncture. Last night was the first night I slept. Today I am sore, but no migraine. Can't thank him enough. He knows exactly what he is doing and he works with the patient. Real gem in South West London.”— Evi Sif
